December 19, 2021 — From today until January 29, Venus is retrograding through practical, earthy Capricorn. The planet of relationships, money, values, and art is moving backwards, helping us reflect on these areas of our life so that we can make necessary adjustments and decide what we want to commit to for the long haul. As we determine what’s important to us, frugality and intentionality are key.

What would we like to devote ourselves to, and what are we ready to discard? How can we approach money, love, and creativity with greater integrity and care?

This is a time of carefully looking back and taking inventory of what’s come before, which can inform us in finding more mature footing on our roads ahead. If we still need to heal or integrate previous relationships, we can slow down and take our time to process old wounds and grief. At the same time, we can appreciate how far we’ve come, honoring all that we’ve learned and accomplished, big or small.

Patterns we thought we outgrew could now rear their heads, but we have the chance to dismantle them with increased awareness. This transit holds many potentials for us if we make space to tune in and look at ourselves, with honesty and compassion.

Is our self-worth lacking? How can we rewrite our mental scripts so that we love and accept ourselves more fully and unconditionally?

If we need to balance our budgets, rethink our spending, or complete unfinished projects, creative or otherwise, we now have the perfect opportunity.

We’ll begin 2022 with Venus in retrograde, and we’ll end the year with Mars following suit. A recalibration of love, relationships, and sexuality is in order as we establish a wiser, more evolved paradigm around interpersonal relationships. The work begins now.
