July 16, 2019 — The Capricorn Full Moon Lunar Eclipse arrives on Tuesday at 5:38pm Eastern Time, closing the eclipse vortex. This occurs in the midst of Mercury retrograde, as well as one of the year’s heaviest retrograde seasons—with Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Chiron also moving backwards. The planets are pushing us to turn inward and let go of old patterns, limitations, and conditioning, which have been holding us back from our soul’s highest potentials. Previous issues and relationships may return now so we can shed deeper layers of stuckness while opening to higher frequencies of love and embodiment.
This is not the time to cling to the past or stay stuck in painful, nostalgic longing. We can embrace all that is arising now and meet it with open pastures, allowing the expression of what we’re feeling to purify our hearts. We’re purging the past so we can make room for a new paradigm to emerge, both within ourselves and the collective.
Meanwhile, Pluto, planet of transformation, death, and rebirth, is conjunct the Moon. This means that this eclipse is extra deep and potent, working to destroy our current sense of identity in order to create a new one. We may feel triggered or uncomfortable, but the planets are stretching us beyond our limits so we can move more quickly through our personal karma, as well as the karma of our families, ancestors, and the whole planet. This is big collective work as we upend patriarchy and begin to inhabit a kinder age, marked by inclusion, egalitarianism, vulnerability, and intimacy—rather than oppression, narcissism, or empty achievement.
Whatever dies now is meant to be reborn. Whatever pain or intense emotions arise are for the purpose of purification.
With Venus conjunct the North Node and soon to oppose Pluto and Saturn, we’re specifically working to transform our relationships, romantic and otherwise. How we relate to the feminine within each of us is changing profoundly as we move to higher dimensions of love, strength, and peace.
As we work along the Cancer-Capricorn axis, we’re also transmuting wounds around the Mother and Father. We’re moving into greater care for others, along with greater maturity as we work toward healing our inner child. As we connect with discipline and integrity, we’re ironically becoming freer and more innocent, especially as we shed the weight of old karma and previous struggles.
This eclipse season truly marks a pivot point into the new paradigm. It’s a crescendo of emptying our cups before refilling them with new patterns, energies, and light that will come to define the coming age, set to begin in 2020, when Saturn, Pluto, and Jupiter form conjunctions in Capricorn. If we can step into our spiritual warriorship and open to all that arises with bravery and centeredness, we have the chance to unstick and spiritually up-level in ways we didn’t even think were possible.
During this Capricorn Lunar Eclipse, may we throw our past struggles to the fires of renewal, inviting a brighter future. May we rally the courage to face our fears and pain, as we open to deeper resonances of light, expansion, and peace.
