December 21, 2020 — The long-anticipated Great Conjunction arrives on Monday—the Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, the Summer in the Southern. Jupiter and Saturn are conjoined at 0º Aquarius, kicking off the Aquarian Age, and leading us toward measured expansion. Optimism is growing steadily inside us, as we feel our hard work and integrity finally paying off. 

The Age of Materialism, Authoritarianism, and Selfish Delusion is ending, as we prepare to step into a new paradigm marked by greater care for the Earth and each other. Technology and innovation will begin to evolve more quickly, especially starting in 2026, when Pluto moves into Aquarius and trines Uranus.

Until then, we are learning to take individual and collective responsibility for our shared morals and ideals, ensuring that we build a more constructive reality, while correcting and rectifying past destruction and harm. With greater nuance, wisdom, and understanding, we can elevate the artists, inventors, outsiders, and renegades among us to turn the wheel and unveil more intelligent paths. Perhaps what was scary before was simply the bright light of awakening and change. Now, it’s time to celebrate our excitement for all that the future may bring.

It’s significant that Jupiter and Saturn are aligning at 0° Aquarius, the zenith of the sign that represents the invention, technology, and enlightened society. We are fully constructing new ideologies and structures in the world, as we begin a cycle of Saturn and Jupiter in Air signs, which will continue until 2159. Over the next decade and hundred-year cycle, we are ready for exponential growth in humanity—for technological innovation and ideological revolution.
 
Of course, this is coming at the end of a painful, challenging year, during which Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto formed conjunctions in Capricorn. We’ve had to face ourselves and the mistakes we’ve made, individually and collectively. The planets have called for unprecedented shadow work. In turn, we’ve learned much about our strength and resilience, as we’ve faced massive waves of fear, uncertainty, and grief. Now, we might notice that hope is breaking through the thick clouds of 2020’s storm—it’s not a manic pendulum swing, but a steady, grounded pivot toward progress and heartfelt change.

As we experience the Great Conjunction, we are now graduating from our major lessons, and crossing the portal into exciting new times and energies. After weeding through old, stagnant patterns and unshackling from the past, we’re ready to inhabit the future more fully. It’s time to feel freer and more liberated from our ruts, on every level.

This new vision requires each of us to step up and offer our part. No one will save us. The Aquarian Age shows us that in order to achieve Piscean oneness and transcendence, we must first individuate and make sure that all beings have their basic needs met, just because they breathe. We are in this together, which means there is no giving up on anyone. There is no leaving a single soul behind. If you suffer, I suffer. If I have wealth or power, I share wealth or power. It’s time to unite from a place of compassion, penetrating intelligence and wisdom, and trust in ourselves. 

With Uranus squaring Saturn much of next year, the friction remains as we liberate from Saturnian constraints. This includes the past, old structures, quarantine, Covid-19, and oppression throughout the world. We are now emerging from the cocoon, slowly and steadily climbing the mountain toward a new perspective and a whole new paradigm.

On the Solstice, may we feel the quiet expansion growing in our hearts, basking in the light of Jupiter and Saturn, beaming through the dark night. May we notice our hard work paying off as we build our dreams into reality, and together, create enlightened society.
