September 25, 2022 — A Libra New Moon arrives on Sunday at 2:55pm Pacific Time, forming a conjunction with communication-oriented Mercury and amorous Venus, while opposing expansive Jupiter. The Sun and Mercury just met up on the equinox a few days ago, marking the midway point of Mercury retrograde. With all of these planets falling in relational, harmonious Libra, we have the chance for fresh insights, meaningful dialogue, and restoring harmony.

Since Mercury is moving backwards, there’s a quality of returning to old loves and resolving outstanding confusion, conflicts, and feelings. With Jupiter involved right on the heels of a Mercury cazimi, fresh insights could flash in, helping us see each other with brighter eyes. We’re able to accept ourselves with more ease and offer others the benefit of the doubt. We may even feel optimism emerge around love in general, which could be extra significant if we’ve been losing faith in ourselves and our capacities for healthy connections.

During this New Moon, we can remember that everyone is basically good. From here, we can work to mend our divides, talk things through, compromise, and choose love. We can feel newfound confidence as we center ourselves and engage in conversations that we were too afraid to have before. How can we speak our truth and tell our stories with openness, grace, and compassion? In doing so, we’re learning to establish easier, more sparkly, and fulfilling bonds.

We may feel extra optimistic about any auspicious encounters that we experience now. Lessons abound in whoever is showing up. However, with Mercury in retrograde, we can slow down rather than leap in, taking our time to notice how we feel. Any new connections offer opportunities to establish fresher values, patterns of relating, and creative inspiration.

If we’ve been stepping back from any established relationships, this is a good chance to check in with ourselves and each other as we move into new territory that is more evolved and considerate. After all, loving well is Libra’s ultimate lesson—the highest potential of the gentle Scales who teach us about balance, beauty, sensitivity, and how to get along.
