Virgo New Moon:
remembering our infinite potential
August 30, 2019 — The Virgo New Moon arrives on Friday at 6:37am Eastern Time, forming a harmonious Grand Earth Trine with multiple planets, including Uranus and Saturn. With five planets in Virgo, her energies are emphasized, and we might feel anxious and overwhelmed—our thoughts spinning. But the Grand Earth Trine is a beautiful support, reminding us to return to our bodies and simplicity. With faith, patience, and gentle persistence, anything is possible.
Opposite Virgo, Neptune in Pisces presents the polarity. If we can call on our spiritual practices, relaxing into being, we can naturally serve ourselves and the world. We will be able to show up for each other and solve the world’s problems, with less panic.
The danger of the Pisces-Virgo polarity is that we ping-pong between excessive worry on one hand, and the desire to check out on the other. With extra effort, we could tap into the enlightened qualities of both signs—calling on the discipline of body and mind (Virgo) so we can relax into our flow and the understanding that all is perfect, no matter what (Pisces). Certain crises are emerging within our bodies, lives, and the planet so we can ultimately heal.
How can we relate honestly with problems arising, without spinning into despair? How can we help each other, without becoming too overwhelmed?
Neptune in Pisces reminds us of our infinite nature. We have more than one lifetime to figure this out. At the same time, we’re not as confined by space and time as we might think. Working together with this stellium in Virgo, we may find that gentle discipline and purity within our own selves, and simply reaching out to those closest to us, may have a boundless effect.
As author Clarissa Pinkola Estes so eloquently wrote: “Ours is not the task of fixing the entire world all at once, but of stretching out to mend the part of the world that is within reach. Any small, calm thing that one soul can do to help another soul, to assist in some portion of this poor suffering world, will help immensely.”
Some kind of faith or trust is needed now. As we go through tremendous upheaval, entering the chaos of things falling apart before they come back together anew, we can anchor into our hearts, bodies, and the Earth. We can hold hands and mean it as we work together to build a better world. The North Node is still in Cancer, showing us that the way forward is kindness and genuine care.
Meanwhile, with Uranus in Taurus, our values are shifting rapidly. How can we make sure that everyone’s needs are met? How can we create a paradigm where the wealth of a few no longer takes precedence over the good of all?
We can relax and float in the ocean of love and bliss, looking to the sky of limitless potential. After all, imagination precedes reality. What can we imagine together as a future paradigm? How much love can we include in our vision as our fears melt away?
Even as some fall prey to fear and stubbornness, we don’t have to give up. It only takes a small number of us, with faith, vision, and perseverance, to change the world, and bring heaven to Earth.
On this Virgo New Moon, may we relax our minds and hearts, and touch the Earth. May we remember that we love each other, with the sky of infinite possibilities as the backdrop, encouraging us to heal and help each other—one step at a time.
